Oisín was surrounded by music from birth, with his father being an accomplished arranger and orchestrator. His first foray into music was on piano, though from early on, it was obvious his passion was for the drums. He took his first steps on his percussive journey at 15, citing Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Dave Grohl (Nirvana), and Brian Downey (Thin Lizzy) as significant influences. Upon finishing school, he initially apprenticed in joinery, and nearly walked away from music altogether. Instead, he left to spend a year in London attending the Diploma course at Drumtech, where his passion for the instrument was rekindled. After returning to Ireland, he was a founding member of the post rock band Enemies, and toured extensively through Europe, Asia and to a lesser extent North America. Oisín departed the band after 7 years having contributed to two well-received albums and a couple of eps, later playing drums with The Envelope, Rocket Surgery, The River Fane and Cat Palace. He currently occupies the drum throne for Kid Karate, while taking on session work in and around Dublin.
